Estimation of the Friction Behaviour of Rubber on Wet Rough Road, and Its Application to Tyre Wet Skid Resistance, Using Numerical Simulation

Tyre wet skid resistance greatly affects vehicle safety, and it is dependent on the frictional behaviour at tyre–road interface; however, currently available numerical models, using finite element method, either neglect road roughness or obtain rightness expensive computed tomography scans, rendering them inefficient complex. This study aims to present an estimation method of rubber slides a rough road, tyre resistance. A three-dimensional model was established, harmonic superposition method; sealing effect water film modelled in terms pseudo-hydrodynamic bearing effect; contact pressure, hysteresis friction, hydrodynamic lift force were calculated. Subsequently, friction established that accounted for surface morphology, properties, sliding speed, pressure.
